02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Charity runs the Kirkcudbright Community Centre, a hall and associated fully accessible facilities which is available to hire by individuals and organisations delivering services to the community. Access to the facilities is fully non-discriminatory. The hall is used for a wide variety of purposes including but not limited to Parties, Tai Chi, Pilates, Board Games, Dance tuition, music rehearsals, public engagement meetings and sports. Groups using the facilities cater for the full sectrum of age ranges from babes in arms to the most senior citizens in the community.

Constitutional objectives
The Centre's objects are to promote and encourage the educational, social, cultural and recreational needs of individuals and groups in Kirkcudbright and district connected herewith and in furtherance thereof:- 2.1 to advance the skills and abilities of the inhabitants of the above area through the delivery of a community facility. 2.2 to work in partnership with Dumfries and Galloway Council and in particular the Department for Community Resources in the promotion of the above objects.
