02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Church of Scotland exists to glorify God and to work for the advancement of Christ's Kingdom throughout the world. The charity undertakes to bring the ordinances of religion to the people in every parish of Scotland through ministry. It co-operates with other ecumenical bodies in Scotland with the objective of delivering religion and God's work. We hold regular services of worship throughout the year including Easter and Christmas open to all. We provide friendship and fellowship to those living along through offering regular events. We financially support the work of Christian Aid and Water Aid from donations and awareness campaigns. We provide a community hub to circulate food products which have reached their shelf life date and grow fresh garden produce to supplement the range of products available through the hub.
