02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Church of Scotland is Trinitarian in doctrine, Reformed in tradition and Presbyterian in policy. It exists to glorify God and to work for the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom throughout the world. As a national Church, it acknowledges a distinctive call and duty to bring the ordinances of religion to the people in every parish of Scotland through a territorial ministry. It co-operates with other Churches in various ecumenical bodies in Scotland and beyond. To achieve its aims, Cross Church of Scotland holds Sunday Worship, Sunday Club, (for children), Prayer Meetings, Bible Study classes, Women’s Bible Study sessions, Parent and Toddler group sessions, Rock Solid, (for primary school pupils), Ness Youth Group, (for secondary school pupils), monthly Conversations in Worship, monthly Men’s Breakfasts , Tea and Chat group, Communions, Missionary Fellowship, Flower Ministry, Christmas Festive meals, Christmas carol service, Flourish – Women’s conference, Men’s Retreat, ‘Word for
