Constitutional objectives

The Charitable Purposes of Murray Library ('the Charitable Purposes') are that the Trustees shall hold the buildings known as 'Murray Library' in Anstruther, Fife for the purpose of maintaining of the buildings themselves, and thereby preserving their heritage, and of using them principally to create a regular annual rental income from commercial or other lettings therein and partly to provide community spaces therein for educational and recreational purposes, with the net annual income of the Trust, after payment of its annual and other expenses and the setting aside a reasonable annual sum as the Trustees hereunder in their sole discretion shall seem proper in a Buildings Maintenance Fund, being allocated by the Trustees to give as grants within and for the benefit of organisations and individuals in the community of the Royal Burgh of Kilrenny and Anstruther in Fife for the purposes of advancing education (which may include education about the arts, culture, heritage and/ or science) and recreation, as they in their sole discretion shall think fit.
