02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

VisionPK is the only charity in Perth and Kinross solely dedicated to supporting people with sight and hearing loss. We help individuals maintain independence, build confidence, and access the practical and emotional support they need to live full lives. Our specialist rehabilitation team works primarily in the community, often visiting people at home to assess their needs and recommend equipment or strategies to make daily living easier. Early intervention is central to our approach, ensuring people understand their condition and have support as it progresses. We also provide social and activity groups to reduce isolation, improve wellbeing, and restore community connections, as well as a telephone befriending service for those in rural areas. Our sensory hub offers information and guidance and is often the first point of contact for anyone seeking help with sight or hearing loss.
