02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
VisionPK supports people of all ages across Perth and Kinross who are blind, partially sighted, Deaf or hard of hearing. We help people live independently and confidently, participate fully in their communities and enjoy a good quality of life. We provide person-centred information, advice and emotional support. specialist rehabilitation. low-vision and equipment assessments. assistive technology. and training in daily-living, orientation and mobility skills. Our Sensory Hub, community outreach and home visits make support accessible, while social activities, peer groups and telephone befriending reduce isolation and improve wellbeing. We also support families and carers, raise awareness of sensory loss and work with statutory, voluntary and business partners to ensure people receive the right help as early as possible.

Constitutional objectives
The company's objects are to promote the welfare of people who have a sensory impairment which impacts on activities of daily living or mobility residing within the area administered by Perth and Kinross Council and such other area or areas as the company may subsequently include within its geographical area of operations or as may be determined by the company at its absolute discretion, (hereinafter referred to as, “the Operating Area”) and to work with such persons to empower and support them to lead independent and fulfilling lives as equal members of society.
