OSCR note: This SCIO was incorporated on the 19 August 2015 as a result of a Change to SCIO application by Tayside Mountain Rescue Association SC001172, which was an Unincorporated Association registered a charity since 28 Feb 1979.

02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The charity provides equipment and training to around 25 volunteers who are on call at all times to search for and rescue people lost or injured in the mountains of Tayside. This requires a high level of technical skills and equipment to carry out this task safely and efficiently. All funds raised go towards this training and equipment and the maintenance of three bases throughout Tayside.

Note: The term 'Mountain Rescue' includes all land based search and rescue as defined by the Police Service of Scotland.
