02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We work with people that are disadvantaged and who are affected by homelessness, poverty, poor mental health and addiction. We want to meet the immediate needs and help people to improve their situations and move forward with their lives, we focus on two distinctive areas where we see need and opportunity for change. We run a drop in service where we serve lunch and dinner every week day. We run college classes in basic IT, employability and wellbeing We run an outreach team who connect with people who are street homeless or who are begging. We work with an ever increasing number of International guests, many of whom are seeking asylum, we offer one to one support and weekly ESOL classes. We have a rehab pathways team who work with some of the most chaotic drug users in Glasgow. Our Child and family centre work with disadvantaged families in Govan. We run an overnight welcome centre.
