02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The Association was formed to enhance the experience and support the residents of Strathmiglo. It aims to undertake these functions catering for all age groups, interests and backgrounds. It is an inclusive body open, and welcoming, to all residents of the area with the aim to promote participation in a wide range of activities that enrich the environment and experience of those living in the village with the aim to reinforce the ‘village feel’ or ‘oneness’ endeavouring to prevent barriers forming between community groups. Through the year, by holding regular meetings, providing a central noticeboard and delivering newsletters to every household, the Association supplies information and advice. It also provides the opportunity to residents to bring concerns, that can be passed on to the relevant local authority department, or aspirations, that the Association could take on as a future project.
