02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
To ensure that all individuals receive information, advice and assistance about their rights and responsibilities and the services that are available to them so that they are not disadvantaged through lack of knowledge or inability to represent themselves effectively. This is achieved by providing a free, confidential and impartial up to date advice and support service on a wide range of issues such as benefits, debt and money, housing, employment, family, consumer and immigration.

Constitutional objectives
4 The company has been formed to benefit principally the area of Clackmannanshire (the “Area of Benefit”) with the following objects 4.1 the advancement of education. 4.2 the prevention or relief of poverty. 4.3 the relief of those in need. 4.4 the advancement of health. 4.5 the advancement of citizenship or community development. 4.6 the promotion of equality and diversity. and 4.7 the advancement of human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation, particularly through (but not limited to) the following activities: 4.8 the provision of advice and assistance to individuals with a view to improve their understanding of their legal rights and responsibilities, facilitate access and use of the benefit system, and alleviate stress and other anxiety caused by unresolved issues. and 4.9 recruiting, training and developing local citizens who are engaged as volunteers in and for the Bureau, who in turn assist members of the public within the Area of Benefit, and in doing so contribute to the development of the Area of Benefit.
