02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Quarriers is a leading Scottish social care charity delivering services across Scotland, partnering with 17 of the 32 local authorities and each of the 14 health boards. The charity provides person-centred services to thousands of people across all age groups by a diverse service provision. Wehelp people to live independently in their local communities, to contribute as citizens, to nurturethe relationships that matter to them, and to create the conditions that will help them flourish.We are driven by strong values rooted in a belief that by giving people support and opportunity,we encourage them to thrive. We offer people practical support so that they can live full andpurposeful lives. We seek to amplify the voices of people we support in our campaign for socialjustice and social inclusion. We are committed to bringing about positive changes in people's livesthrough direct support and by challenging stigma, poverty and inequality.

Constitutional objectives

Objects 2 The company's objects are to provide relief to those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. through, but not limited to:- a) providing high-quality care and support to the people we support. b) conducting or promoting or encouraging research and evaluation into the care of the people we support. c) providing, encouraging or assisting in the teaching and/or training of any person connected with the care of the people we support. d) providing counselling services and practical care and support for the relatives and friends and other carers of the people we support. e) advocating for and advancing the interests of people we support through public campaigns and by appealing to elected officials, civil servants, local government employees, other civic leaders, and the media. and f) providing advice and assistance to others on matters connected with the objects of the company, either free of charge or subject to such payment as the company may think fit.
