Constitutional objectives

The objects for which the Company is established are:- (a) To encourage, co-operate with and assist in the administration of their work in the preaching and spreading of the Gospel, and the edification, education, and maintenance of Christians, all Christians in Scotland or elsewhere who maintain and avowedly approve of the following Doctrines and Practices, videlicet: I.-Doctrines. 1. The Divine Inspiration, Authority and sufficiency of the Holy Scriptures. 2. The Trinity of the Godhead necessarily including the Deity of the Lord Jesus equally with the Father and the Holy Spirit. 3. The atoning sacrifice of Christ, as a propitiation for the remission of sins. 4. The fall of man and his consequent depravity necessitating the Holy Spirit’s work in regeneration and sanctification. 5. The justification of the sinner before God by faith in Christ alone. 6. That at death the soul of man does not cease to exist or become unconscious. 7. That the dead will be raised either to life or condemnation, and 8. That the blessedness of the righteous and the punishment of the unrighteous will be alike eternal.
