Constitutional objectives

The said subjects and the building erected or to be erected thereon (hereinafter referred to as 'the Trust subjects') are dedicated and shall be held by us and our successors as Trustees in all time coming for the purpose of physical and mental training and recreation and social moral and intellectual development through the medium of reading and recreation rooms, library, lectures, classes, recreation or otherwise as may be found expedient of the inhabitants of Ford and surrounding district in the County of Argyll without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions subject to the provisions of these presents. Declaring that the expression 'Ford and surrounding district' shall mean an area bounded as follows:- by a line commencing at the point where the Lochgilphead to Oban Road branches off to Ford, thence running along said road to Oban to Bench Mark 546 of the Ordanance Survey Map thence from said Bench Mark along the old Drove Road to Ford thence to Arichamish Farm, thence in a straight line from Arichamish Farm to Finchairn Farm thence from Finchairn Farm in a straight line to Barmolloch Farm thence in a straight line from Barmolloch Farm to the point of commencement.
