02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We perform three concerts annually at Ayr Town Hall: one in Autumn, one Christmas concert and one Spring concert. Our rehearsal season with weekly rehearsals usually spans from late August until late March/early April. In addition we organise annual 'Come and Sing' days or weekends inviting participants from far and wide. Smaller groups of our choir perform a late Spring concert in a different venue (last few years this was done at Glasgow Cathedral) and at local venues like Belleisle Conservatory (Make Music day and Carol singing), Carol singing at Culzean Castle and Carol singing at supermarkets to raise funds for our partner charity Whiteleys Retreat, a charity offering support to families with children affected by life altering conditions.
