02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
St.Ninians Scottish Episcopal Church. is part of the Diocese of Aberdeen and Orkney, part of the Province (Scotland) of the SEC and part of the World wide Anglican Communion. In practical terms at St. Ninians Aberdeen, we gather to Praise and Worship God, providing Christian Teaching, Education, and Discipleship Courses to that end. St.Ninians, is a small number of people with a very big heart. The example of Jesus Christ is used as the blue print of how the Church, its people, Resources and Building should be made available for Public Benefit, aiding and befriending the wider community of which we are part. The Building (church) is located in a multi-deprivation area of Aberdeen. The Building is a warm safe space for anyone in the wider community to gather along with our volunteers e.g. 'Open Tuesday' every week from 11am-3:30pm with friendly blether, refreshments all day, a simple Soup and Sandwich lunch, arts and crafts, board games etc, all free of charge.
