02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

To provide companionship and to help older and frail members of our community by giving them opportunities to learn new skills and develop existing ones. Also to point them in the right direction to access help with financial services.

Constitutional objectives

The aim of the Group is to promote the welfare of the older inhabitants of Kemnay and its environs by associating the local authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants thereof in a common effort to advance education and provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said older inhabitants. In furtherance thereof:- 1. To allow older people access to resources which are not regularly available. 2. To encourage older people to find new interests, new roles, and new challenges in their lives. 3. To stimulate older people to develop self-confidence, to take responsibility for their lives, and to see themselves as part of the community. 5. To allow the older person in the community to become involved, irrespective of their physical or mental abilities.
