02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Established in 1982, GMAC is a learning organisation that utilises the craft of filmmaking to empower our participants to thrive both personally and professionally. Our Vision: GMAC wants Scotland to be a country where underrepresented people with a diverse range of perspectives have the skills to tell stories, communicate clearly, collaborate effectively and lead transformational change in our communities. We are based in central Glasgow and work across Greater Glasgow delivering participatory programmes and events that function as a bridge to connect people, communities and organisations. Many GMAC alumni have gone into the screen sector or, just as importantly, have used their new skills to launch or change career paths.
