Constitutional objectives

The objects for which the Trust is established are :- (a) To make arrangements for the holding of competitions in the playing of Highland bagpipes or other musical instruments amongst players or performers or groups of players or performers of musical ability as the Trustees shall select. (b) To encourage the education, and interest of the public in the art of music generally and in Scottish Highland music especially. (c) To provide instruction or to contribute to the provision of instruction of youths, and adults in playing the highland bagpipes or other musical, instruments. (d) To arrange for performance and displays in the playing of highland bagpipes or other musical instruments. (e) To promote research into the folk music of the Highlands of Scotland. (f) To endow as the Trustees think fit charitable museums and centres existing to advance public appreciation of the arts. (g) To purchase, take on lease, hire, receive by way of gift or otherwise acquire, and also to sell, let or dispose of any real or personal property for the purposes of the Trust. (h) To erect, adapt, extend and improve buildings and provide equipment, and the Trustees may burden and sell all property, heritable and moveable belonging to them.
