02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity is a Christian Church, set up to advance the Christian faith, to worship, to instruct, to proclaim, to serve the members, to serve the community, and generally to reach out to others. This is done by means of regular Sunday worship services, other regular meetings of various sizes, pastoral care, teaching and training, and numerous ministries focused on specific aspects of outreach.

Constitutional objectives
To advance the Christian faith for the public benefit in Scotland and worldwide and in furtherance thereof: Section 1. To exalt God in worship, and to promote the Bible as his revelation to man. Section 2. To bring men, women and children to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through the proclamation of the Gospel, and into a subsequent Christ-centred life as part of the family of God. Section 3. To teach and proclaim the whole counsel of God by any appropriate means or medium that may be or may become available. Section 4. To reach out to others in the community through support and service, proclaiming and demonstrating the Gospel and its application to the whole person. Section 5. To support Christian missionary work and missionary workers in Scotland and worldwide, both evangelistically in taking 'the good news to the poor' and benevolently in providing humanitarian aid. Section 6. To encourage and assist God's people in discovering their gifting and fulfilling their particular ministries and callings. and to participate in recognising those who are called to vocational Christian ministry, and supporting them to serve in this way.
