02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Diocese of Argyll and the Isles is one such portion of the people of God - bishop, clergy, religious and laypeople make up the Diocese and all contribute to its life and mission according to their respective roles and God-given talents. The proclamation of the Gospel and the celebration of the Sacraments, primarily the Eucharist, are the principal tasks of the Diocese. The Objectives and Activities of the Diocese are four in number: • Provision for Divine Worship and the Sacraments • Catechesis and Education • Social Justice and Works of Charily • Cultural Preservation, Development, and promotion
