02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The overall purpose of FDPW is contained within the Company’s Memorandum of Association – it is to promote the study, practice and knowledge of the art of printmaking for the public benefit. FDPW provides fine art printmaking facilities to some 35 artist members. In addition to this, the organisation runs a portfolio of workshops each year that helps to develop the interest and skills of up to 50 individuals It works within the local community by providing stimulation, education, skills development and social interactions to its artist members and members of the local community. These activities improve the health and well-being of all sections of the community. It contributes to the culture of Fife and beyond by holding or participating in exhibitions of members' work.

Constitutional objectives
The Objects for which the Association is established are:- (a)(i) To promote the study, practice and knowledge of the art of printmaking for the public benefit and in furtherance of that object but not otherwise. (ii) To present, promote, organise, provide, manage, and produce films, broadcasts, entertainments, and exhibitions whether on any premises of the Association or elsewhere as are conducive to the promotion, maintenance, improvement, and advancement of education, or to the encouragement of the Arts. (b) To establish, subsidise, promote, co-operate, or federate with, affiliate or become affiliated to, act as trustees or agents for, or manage or land money or other assistance to any association, society or other body, corporate or unincorporated, established for charitable purposes only and for the purpose of promoting any objects of the Association to co-operate with manufacturers, dealers, or other traders, and with the press and other sources of publicity ...
