02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Children in Scotland brings together a wide membership, with of children and young people and a wider network of those working with and for children in Scotland to contribute to a better Scotland for all babies, children and young people. By listening carefully, gathering insights and sharing what we learn, we help shape better outcomes for children and families across Scotland. We have five strategic priorities: 1. Making sure that children and young people's views will be listened to, taken seriously, and acted upon. 2. Delivering quality services that support children, young people, parents carers and professionals. 3. Maintaining and building on a strong and effective network with vibrant membership at its core. 4. Leading and developing the children's sector workforce. 5. Influencing policymakers to deliver on our Manifesto priorities. 6. Being an environmentally and financially sustainable organisation.

The objectives for which the Association is established are:For the public benefit :- (i) to promote the welfare of children and their families and assist in the work of organisations and agencies concerned with the welfare and education of children and young people through preventing and relieving the poverty, distress or sickness of children, young people and their families, advancing their education, health, involvement in the arts and physical activities, and to pursue any other objectives for the welfare of children, young people and their families which are now or hereafter deemed by law to be charitable
