02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity is set up to further the conservation, understanding and appreciation of natural heritage in the Highland district of Badenoch & Strathspey. We work towards achieving this through engaging with conservation and environmental issues, consultations and development proposals, as well as recording wildlife species. We hold public meetings on topics of natural heritage and the environment. and promote information through a variety of media.

Constitutional objectives
(a) To stimulate public interest in - and care for - the beauty, history and character of Badenoch and Strathspey. (b) To encourage active conservation of the area through wise use. (c) To encourage high standards of planning and architecture in harmony with the environment. The Group shall pursue these objectives solely by charitable means including. meetings, lectures, publications, conferences and publicity. the promotion of schemes of a charitable nature. drawing issues to the attention of appropriate bodies, and collaborating with other societies in the area having similar aims.
