02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
ead Scotland supports disabled people, carers and others facing disadvantage to overcome barriers and create opportunities through learning, digital inclusion, employability and meaningful connections. We help people build skills, confidence and independence, understand and exercise their rights, and participate more fully in learning, work and community life. We do this through inclusive learning programmes, digital and cyber support, employability activity, befriending and connection services, our Disabled Students’ Helpline, accessible qualifications, information and advice. We also use the experience of the people we support to inform partnerships, policy and wider system change, helping to reduce barriers and improve inclusion across Scotland.

Constitutional objectives
The Objects for which the Company is established are: 1. to advance the education of the public in Scotland particularly in the area of working with people with disabilities and their carers and people disadvantaged by their social or educational exclusion. 2. to act in the capacity of a learning provider for the groups of people identified in Object 1, such provision to include but not be limited to, integrated literacy & numeracy.
