What the charity exists to do
The charity is a Museum established in 2011 with the purpose of conserving the history and heritage of Musselburgh and its surrounding area and to curate and mount exhibitions.

Constitutional objectives
The organisation's objects are for the benefit of the public in Scotland and elsewhere to advance education and the arts, heritage and science through: the collection, recording and preservation of the history of Musselburgh and district, and the provision of an environment and activities that enable individuals and groups to learn about the cultural and historical heritage of Musselburgh and the surrounding area.
