02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
1. To provide in the interests of social welfare, a swimming pool and other facilities for recreation and leisure time activity available to the public at large within Kirkcudbright and environs with a view to improving their conditions to life. 2. To advance education through the provision of training in the skills of life-saving and resuscitation. 3. To provide relief for persons suffering from a mental and/or physical disability or impairment through the provision of therapy within a swimming pool environment. 4. To arrange and promote lectures, demonstrations and competitions and to form classes of instruction so as to bring about a widespread and thorough knowledge of the principles which underlie in the art of swimming and to promote and encourage the teaching of swimming and life-saving in schools, colleges and other educational establishments.
