02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Church of Scotland is Trinitarian in doctrine, Reformed in tradition and Presbyterian in polity.. Dunblane Cathedral, Kilmadock and Blair Drummond Church of Scotland, as a parish church, has responsibility for the spiritual and pastoral care of Dunblane, Doune, Deanston and large rural areas surrounding these communities. In Dunblane it shares this responsibility with Dunblane St. Blane’s Church of Scotland and works together with other Christian denominations. Its activities, therefore, are directed not merely to its own members and congregation but seek to reach out to these communities, in particular to young families and young people. For example, membership of organisations is open to all, whether or not members of the congregation. Many non-members are active in the life of the Congregation, attending worship and as members of its organisations and/or taking part in their activities.
