What the charity exists to do

The charity has been involved in restoring and providing a sustainable future for the former Dowanhill Church (now Cottiers), with its theatre space remaining a popular music and theatrical performance venue as well as offering an attractive setting for weddings

Constitutional objectives

2 The company's objects are: (a) To promote for the public benefit the preservation (whether wholly or in part) of buildings and other structures or features of historic and/or architectural significance, and in particular (but without limitation) the former Dowanhill Church and its ancillary buildings and grounds (now known as 'Cottiers'). (b) To advance the arts and culture, and in particular by providing appropriate performance, rehearsal and/or exhibition space for arts and cultural activities. (c) To provide recreational facilities available to members of the public at large, with the object of improving their conditions of life. (d) To advance education, and in particular with regard to the qualities of buildings of architectural merit and those involved in the design of those buildings. (e) To promote, establish, operate and/or support other projects and initiatives which further a similar charitable purpose or purposes.
