What the charity exists to do
Tayside Opera provides collective opportunities for artistic activity and performance. There is wide community engagement through music, theatre and the production of opera and concert events. The company rehearses and performs two concerts and a fully staged opera each year. Members come from all walks of life and benefit from professional direction and experience (music, stage-craft, movement, production, costumes, technical and backstage experience.) Tayside Opera fulfils important social functions within its membership and audeince community, providing rare opportunites for engagement with the performing arts at a level which is not generally available outside of major cities. Apart from local membership, many of our company travel significant distances for the opportunity to take part.
