What the charity exists to do

Promote a friendly community spirit among the older residents in the Parish of Nigg and Shandwick

Charitable purposes

  • the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage

  • It makes grants, donations, loans, gifts or pensions to individuals

Constitutional objectives

The objects shall be- 1 To promote a friendly community spirit among the older residents of the said Parish over the age of 65 (sixty-five years), any resident of that age is eligible should they so wish. 2 To organise outings, social events and other communal activities. 3 To encourage members to feel that they are a valued part of the Community. 4 If there should be spare income after having fulfilled the foregoing obligation to help any member of the community irrespective of age in special need as the Committee may think appropriate. 4 In administering the Fund the Trustees shall endeavour to expend the whole of the income rather than to reinvest it, unless in exceptional circumstances. It shall be borne in mind by the Trustees that the object is to make older people feel wanted and needed and part of the community, and funds shall be expended rather towards communal activities than in a cash payment indiscriminately to older people.
