02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
As a National Christian Charity comprised of other local Christian Charities, the Church of God Scotland has many opportunities to be involved with improving the health and wellbeing of people who live in the communities we serve. Our main purpose or goal as a Christian Charity is to introduces people to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our strategy to accomplish this goal is to love as Jesus loved and to serve as Jesus served. We currently have 20 churches made of a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, and multi-generational group of Christians.

Constitutional objectives
The object of the church shall be:- a) The proclamation and furtherance of the Christian Gospel in Scotland according to the acts and teachings of the Church presently as set out in the Minutes current from time to time of the Church of God Worldwide (hereinafter referred to as ‘the international church’) of which the church is a part and which acts and teachings from time to time are hereinafter referred to as “the tenets of the Church”. b) The maintenance of a ministry and administration of the ordinances for the Gospel according the tenets of the Church c) The maintenance of churched and the establishment of new churches for worship in accordance with the tenets of the church d) The provision of preachers, ministers and pastors for the propagation and continuance of the tenets of the church e) The provision of missionaries to work abroad or in the United Kingdom for the propagation and continuance of the tenets of the church
