02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Hold regular public meetings, and carry out genealogy research, the results of which are published. Provide an archive and research facility and publish a magazine three times per year. Maintain a website with reference material. Provide a research service to assist family historians Undertake projects to increase and improve the resources available for the family and local historian, including recording Monumental Inscriptions, indexing Poor Law records and Police and Criminal Record.
