02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
PKAVS has supported people across Perth & Kinross since 1972. Guided by compassion, collaboration, and impact, we help individuals and communities facing poverty, poor mental health, unpaid caring responsibilities, disability, isolation, or disadvantage live more connected, independent, and meaningful lives. Our services include Carers Support, offering emotional and practical help to unpaid carers of all ages. Mental Health & Wellbeing projects like Walled Garden and Wisecraft, providing structured environments for recovery through activities and social connection. Shopmobility, enabling independence with scooters and wheelchairs. and the Big Hoose Project, delivering essential household items to those in poverty. As the area’s Third Sector Interface, we also strengthen local charities and community groups through advice, training, and collaboration.
