02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Championing free, independent, impartial, confidential money advice and financial inclusion, and providing second tier support (in money advice) and membership services. Money Advice Scotland exists to help people in debt, support money advisors and influence policy. Money advice and training is provided to schools, further education establishments and individuals. The company provides specialist training to the money advice sector and is the leading organisation for cascading learning and growth in the sector. Our mission is to be the driving force towards financial wellbeing for the people of Scotland ‘because people in debt deserve to be treated fairly.'

Constitutional objectives
The objects of the Association shall be to promote education in matters relating to personal finance, the development of free money advice services, the exchange of information and experiences in those matters and to undertake and such other activities as may be in accord with those objects as may relieve the distress caused by personal indebtedness and poverty.
