02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We exist to represent the views and interests of all 24,000 students at the University of Strathclyde. This is done by lobbying on behalf of the students on the issues that are important to them such as mental health, cost of living and housing - we are lead by the students. We deliver campaigns and organising student activity. We offer an independent and confidential advice service, run by professional staff advisers who can support on matters related to our members studies, housing, and funding and finance. We also strive to enhance the student experience by offering opportunities to develop skills and experiences through societies and sports clubs. We have over 200 Societies and over 50 Sports Clubs run by students, for students. We accommodate student volunteering opportunities to help our members develop professionally and personally.
