02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our charity is a Church which provides weekly religious services for both members and non-members. We sponsor the Formartine Youth Project for children aged between 10-18yrs who meet in the church for games and snacks on a weekly basis during term time in Pitmedden. Youth cafes/Club run by FYP are also held in Methlick and Barthol Chapel. The church provides financial support to the local boys brigade and to the salary of the youth project leader. The running of the church is funded by regular donations from members and by holding various fundraising events such as 'The Big Breakfast', Soup & Sweet, Gourmet Auction etc. These also help raise our profile in the local community and beyond.
