02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity is set up to improve the physical, mental and social wellbeing of people living in South West Edinburgh, whilst addressing health inequalities. This is achieved by offering a range of low cost/free activities in the local area which meet the needs of the community we are based. These activities include but are not limited to. one to one support – counselling. psychoeducational groups for mental health. Action for Pain – support for people living with chronic pain. employment of community link workers, volunteering opportunities. groups for older adults. ecotherapy and meditation. Art and Creativity groups for health and well-being. We also work in partnership with various other organisations including being chair of the local Gorgie/Dalry and an active member of the Edinburgh Community Health Forum.
