02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We are the city's historical society promoting interest in Edinburgh history and associated research, access to sources and bringing that history to life. We organise lectures and visits, publish our journal, the Book of the Old Edinburgh Club and provide online resources such as the Bibliography of Edinburgh History and Building Edinburgh, records from the Dean of Guild Court. We also administer grants, undertake collaborative projects and spread the word through social media.

Constitutional objectives
