02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Church of Scotland is Trinitarian in doctrine, Reformed in tradition and Presbyterian in policy. It exists to glorify God and to work for the advancement of Christ's Kingdom throughout the world. As a national Church, it acknowledges a distinctive call and duty to bring the ordinances of religion to the people in every parish of Scotland through a territorial ministry. It cooperates with other Churches in various ecumenical bodies in Scotland and beyond. Services of Worship - During 2025, Sunday services were held at 9:30 am, alternating weekly between the church locations of Balmerino and Wormit. Additional services are held throughout the year. During Holy Week and Advent, additional services of reflection and worship are held in either church. By arrangement, ad hoc evening Praise and Worship services are held in either church hall. After the formation of the new union with Creich Flisk and Kilmany there will be two Sunday services at 9:30am and 11:00am.
