02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) is a British registered charity providing care & support to serving & retired members of the RAF & Air Forces of the British Commonwealth & their dependents. RAFA's aims are to help sustain a resilient, empowered RAF community, including Serving personnel, Veterans & their families. We aim to reduce social loneliness & isolation through contact by helping all generations to remain active, thriving & valued members of their local community. RAFA HQ is in Leicester, with RAFA Branches across the UK & Overseas. RAFA Moray Branch Committee & Members meet each month at the Ex-Servicemen's Club in Elgin with Minutes recorded. Every year, RAFA Branches, organise a Wings Appeal to raise funds from Sales & Public Donations at various locations i.e. supermarkets / fayres across Moray. Funds collected are banked & transferred to RAFA HQ. The Governing Document is reviewed each year at the AGM & Annual Conference & any changes notified to branches.
