02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Our Programme of work with Young People sets out to alleviate the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences by supporting and promoting social, emotional and physical well-being, combining centre-based activities and residential and outdoor experiences throughout Scotland. We take a place-based approach to our Community work that is community-led, connecting with local people and connecting them around shared interests, strengths and issues. We became one of only two pioneer neighbourhoods in Glasgow looking at issues surrounding the climate crisis and building resilience through an initiative called Creative Climate Futures. This work has involved the development of a walking route leading users on a journey through the Gorbals with posts and directional signs at various points to mark the route. and development of a creative wildflower space for our community to connect with nature and each other.
