02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Glasgow Orchestral Society is an amateur symphony orchestra in Glasgow with approximately 80 members. We rehearse on Monday evenings and generally preform four concerts a year. We invite different conductors for each concert and perform a wide range of repertoire from classical to new modern works by contemporary composers.

Constitutional objectives
The Society was formed 'for the study and practice of orchestral music'. The purpose of the Society shall be to promote the study, practice and knowledge of music in Glasgow and the surrounding district, and other educational and social purposes connected therewith.
