02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We have been happy with the progress the committee have made keeping the hall open over the last year. We were fortunate to have some new members joining our committee at the last AGM which is always great to see. The running costs remain a concern as the energy and running costs continue to escalate. The committee have continued to be busy raising money to continue the steady progress of reinvesting and improving the venue. Over the last year we have invested in new floor cleaning machines for both the upstairs and downstairs halls. We have had a new roller door fitted in the kitchen area and we have had the front foyer painted and secured funding to have the main hall and the café bar redecorated.

Constitutional objectives
(a) To take over, preserve and conserve The Grant Hall (Rothes) for the benefit of the local community and to advance education by promoting, developing and stimulating interest in the history and culture of the area, to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Rothes and its environs, without distinction of political, religious or other opinions, by associating the local authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objects of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. (b) To promote, establish and operate other schemes of a charitable nature for the benefit of the community within the local community of Rothes and surrounding area.
