02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Carloway Agricultural Society seeks to promote an interest in various aspects of croft work by running the Carloway Show on the first Wednesday of August each year. The Show was established in 1911 and has run without a break, apart from the years of the Covid pandemic, since 1954. It gives an opportunity for people to exhibit their livestock and croft produce of all kinds, and provides a variety of entertaining events including Highland Games and piping.
