The charity is responsible for the maintenance and integrity of Scott Hall and makes this facility available to the local community.

Constitutional objectives
(a) To implement the provisions of the said Disposition and Deed of Gift by Walter Scott in favour of John Morison and others. (b) To promote the wellbeing of the inhabitants of the Parish of Forgue and its vicinity by associating the local authorities, voluntary organisations and residents in a common effort to promote social activities to foster a community spirit, to advance education and to achieve such other aims as may be determined by the Committee but only in so far as those aims are not at variance with the provisions of the said Disposition and Deed of Gift. (c) To maintain and manage the Scott Hall for activities promoted by the Committee and its constituent members in furtherance of the above objects, and to carry out any extension to the premises or facilities provided which may at any time seem necessary or desirable. The Committee shall be non-party-political and non-sectarian.
