Constitutional objectives
(a) the promotion of the welfare, dignity and efficiency of members and intending members of the British Merchant Navy and particularly, but without limiting the trustees discretion, of members who have served or are serving on ships of which Messieurs Christian Salvesen and Company of Leith have been or are the Managers or owners and also, but again without limiting the trustees discretion, of such members and intending members resident in Scotland. and (b) the improvement of the appearance or amenities of buildings or places frequented by members of the British Merchant Navy for purposes connected with, or in consequence of, their services and particularly but without limiting the trustees discretion, of such buildings in or in the neighbourhood of the Port of Leith under declaration that the trustees shall have complete liberty in their methods of achieving these purposes.
