02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The objects of the Trust are to improve the quality of life of sick, infirm and/or deprived persons in need but assisting charitable organisations to provide (or providing) gifts of, or grants towards the supply of food, fuel, clothing and household requirements generally, or to contribute to (or contribution to) a person’s maintenance and/or treatment in their own homes, day-care centres, nursing homes, hospices, etc. or to provide (or providing) necessary medical or surgical appliances, transport and/or holiday facilities. All benefits provided are to be supplement to and not in substitution for any service which is a public responsibility under the National Health Service or other Acts. The are of activity of the Trust is restricted to that of the former Roxburghshire county.
