Constitutional objectives

The objects of the company are: a) To value every vulnerable, young person at risk of homelessness as an individual in their own right and to support them towards becoming confident, independent members of their own community. b) To provide a safe and welcoming environment, accommodation and supports to empower and enable vulnerable young people at risk of homelessness with the opportunities to improve their well-being, self esteem and quality of life c) To adopt a non-judgemental approach which respects each young person as an individual with their own identity. d) To encourage and promote professional and positive working relationships with our partner organisations/stakeholders, i.e. Local Authorities, voluntary organisations, the inhabitants of the local communities and surrounding areas in a non-discriminatory manner e) To promote the values of Open Door Scotland to educate, raise awareness and highlight the issues of youth homelessness. f) To provide supported accommodation in the interests of young people and to co-operate with the relevant local authority and others in the management and maintenance of Open Door Scotland facilities to aid the furtherance of the above objects. g) To provide young people, are at risk of homelessness or are experiencing homelessness, with Community based Outreach support, which can provide a range of advice and support within their own community. h) To challenge social exclusion and inequalities by empowering young people at risk of homelessness to gain the necessary, skills, knowledge and confidence to facilitate their own inclusion into their local communities.
