02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We are set up as a church to advance the Christian religion. We hold weekly services and offer Sunday School, Bible classes, opportunities for Bible study and Lenten studies. We sponsor religion based congregational organisations and the Boys Brigade Company in the district. We Support the minister in the operation of school chaplaincies, and provide worship services to local nursing homes. We contribute to the work of the local presbytery, the local interdenominational group, the work of the Church at national level and the work of some Christian agencies. We offer pastoral care, encourage ecological awareness and support international aid and relief work. We provide volunteers for Glasgow City Mission and support Alzheimer Scotland by providing musical stimulation for dementia sufferers through 'Mind that Song'
