02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
In pursuit of our charitable purposes, we support Scottish beekeepers in many ways, including providing a comprehensive education and examination system, public and product liability insurance cover, and wide-ranging support and advice. We promote honey bees and honey bee products through extensive interaction with the general public.

Constitutional objectives
The organisation’s purposes are to support honeybees and beekeepers, to improve the standard of beekeeping, and to promote honeybee products in Scotland through: 4.1 the advancement of education, including that specifically directed towards children, in relation to the craft of beekeeping. 4.2 the advancement of the heritage, culture and science of beekeeping. and 4.3 the advancement of environmental protection by conservation of the honeybee.
