What the charity exists to do
The primary purpose of the charity is to run an international piano competition, usually every 3 or 4 years. SIPC also works with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland to organise an youth competition.

Constitutional objectives
3.1 The charitable purposes of the Company are the advancement of the arts, in particular: 3.1.1 to continue, develop, promote and improve the Scottish International Piano Competition. 3.1.2 to promote, develop and improve such other music and music related festivals and events as the Company may determine from time to time. and 3.1.3 to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art and science of music in all its aspects by the presentation of public concerts and recitals and by such other ways as the Company shall determine from time to time.
